Comfort Comms makes grief support more predictable, consistent, and equitable. Delivering powerful yet simple communications protocols and customized consultations, Comfort Comms helps large organizations meet the moment when their people need it most.

The Comfort Comms (Comfort) protocol includes easy-to-follow instructions and templates that HR can use to manage collaboration, ensure an individual’s privacy and desires are respected, stay ahead of questions, and even direct coworkers, managers, and executives on what to say and do to help their colleagues. Importantly, the Comfort protocol goes well beyond those first few days to provide full-cycle support through re-entry, re-integration, and post-loss performance management.

Comfort was founded in 2023 by two successfully exited HR technology and communications professionals who, like too many others, have experienced complex, traumatic grief. Our philosophy is that given the ubiquity of grief, organizations should be prepared to respond to it  equitably, for every single employee. Our approach of systematically activating employees and managers to support grieving colleagues came from our deep expertise in user adoption. And our mission is to address the comfort gap – with 150 million workers in the US and only 200,000 therapists, we know that a truly effective and scalable communications solution has to first address the hurdles people face in providing words of comfort.
